Co-Curricular Activities

The Art department provides optimum environment for the kids to explore their creativity. Our main concern is to awaken in our wards the love of art and develop in them an aesthetic sensitivity.

Music provides the lifeblood for the health and vitality of the whole community. Pupils of Vidya Bhavan along with vocal music and intricacies of lyrics also learn to play various musical instruments. This includes Indian instruments like tabla, harmonium, sitar, dholak, khanjari etc. and Western ones like guitar, bongo, kongo, jazz drums, mandolin, xylophone and so on.

In this departments the students are trained in rhythmic foot patterns and different body postures and movements of dance. Various mythological themes are taken up and performed by the students in school assemblies at special festivals. Occasionally mythological themes may be presented in a dance-drama form. Sometimes students are also exposed to dances of other traditions like the Western 'Rock 'n' Roll' or the Russian style of ballet.

In order to impart to our students various life skills, many activities are brought together under the banner of work experience. Pot painting, fabric painting , printing , metal embossing , painting, paper craft, flower making, collages, simple cooking, working with needle and thread, tie and dye, clay modeling, candle making are some things enthusiastically taught & learnt.
